Description
A flavor-packed pizza featuring tender short ribs topped with a creamy smoked gouda sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs short ribs
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 2 cups shredded smoked gouda cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the short ribs with salt and pepper. Sear in a pot over medium-high heat until browned on all sides (3-4 minutes per side).
- Remove the short ribs and set aside. Sauté the chopped onion for 5 minutes, then add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Return the short ribs to the pot with a cup of beef broth or water, cover, and simmer on low heat for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the shredded smoked gouda until melted.
- Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to desired thickness and transfer to a baking sheet.
- Spread the smoked gouda cream sauce over the dough, then top with shredded short ribs and extra gouda.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Top with fresh basil or parsley and sea salt before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a crispy crust, preheat your pizza stone in the oven for at least 30 minutes before baking.
