- 1 cup mixed dried fruits (such as figs, apricots, and raisins)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup sugar for coating
Instructions
- Toast the almonds by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spreading the almonds on a baking sheet for about 8-10 minutes.
- Chop the dried fruits into small, bite-sized pieces.
- Mix the toasted almonds, chopped dried fruits, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest in a large bowl.
- Combine the ingredients thoroughly until sticky enough to hold together.
- Roll about a tablespoon of the mixture into balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter.
- Sugar coat each ball by rolling in sugar until evenly coated.
- Chill the sugar plums on a parchment-lined tray in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
