Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough or 2 cups prepared cornbread batter
1 tbsp oil
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, heat oil. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
Add ground beef, cook until browned, then drain fat.
Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.
Transfer beef mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish.
Top with cheese if using, then arrange biscuits or pour cornbread batter evenly over the top.
Bake 20–25 minutes or until topping is golden and cooked through.
Let rest a few minutes before serving.
