- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the puff pastry into a large rectangle, about 10 inches long and 5 inches wide.
- Add cream cheese mixture to the center of each pastry rectangle.
- Spoon it out, leaving about an inch of pastry around the edges.
- Layer the sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese.
- Add a drizzle of strawberry jam over the strawberries.
- Fold the edges of the pastry rectangles towards the center.
- Prepare for baking by placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Cool for a few minutes and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a vegan version, use non-dairy milk instead of egg wash.
