Description

A delightful blend of juicy peaches and creamy filling, all wrapped up in a crumbly, buttery topping. Perfect for summer picnics and potlucks!


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups (350 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup (140 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups (280 g) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, preferably dark
  • 5 cups pitted, peeled, and chopped peaches (about 78 peaches/2.5 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup (35 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons (90 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the cold butter cubes.
  3. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Set aside about 1 cup of the crumble mixture for the topping.
  5. Press the remaining mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish to create a solid crust layer.
  6. Combine the chopped peaches, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl. Pour in the heavy cream and stir.
  7. Pour the peach mixture over the crust in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the reserved crumble mixture on top of the peach filling.
  9. Bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly around the edges.
  10. Cool in the pan for at least 20-30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
