Description

A delightful blend of juicy peaches and a creamy filling, all wrapped up in a crumbly, buttery topping. Perfect for picnics and sunny afternoons.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups (350 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup (140 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups (280 g) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, preferably dark
  • 5 cups pitted, peeled, and chopped peaches (about 78 peaches/2.5 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup (35 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons (90 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the cold butter cubes and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Set aside about 1 cup of the crumble mixture for topping. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Mix the chopped peaches, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl. Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
  5. Pour the peach mixture over the crust in the baking dish, then sprinkle the reserved crumble on top.
  6. Slide the dish into the oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Cool in the pan for at least 20-30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally garnished with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
