Description

Ingredients

  • 5 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 additional pie crust (for lattice top, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your peaches by peeling and slicing them. Blanching can help in peeling.
  2. Mix the sliced peaches with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice, then let sit.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Roll out your bottom crust and fit it to your pie pan.
  5. Pour in the peach mixture and dot with butter.
  6. Create a lattice top or cover with a full crust, making slits for steam escape.
  7. Crimp the edges and brush with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving.
