Description
A quick and flavorful Lemon Parmesan Pasta dish that combines creamy, zesty elements for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon (juice and zest)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the 8 oz of pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta cooking water before draining.
- Heat the Garlic: While your pasta is cooking, heat the 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
- Add Lemon Juice and Zest: Squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon and add the zest. Stir everything together.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add your drained pasta directly to the skillet with the lemon-garlic mixture and toss to coat.
- Incorporate Parmesan: Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and about ½ cup of the reserved pasta water. Toss again until creamy.
- Season and Garnish: Season with salt and pepper to taste, finishing with chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
Notes
Adding salt to the boiling water enhances the pasta’s flavor. Adjust seasoning to your taste.
