A comforting casserole that captures all the flavors of a classic cheesesteak, perfect for family dinners or game days.

- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 8 oz (225 g) white mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup (120 ml) beef broth
- 1 cup (115 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup (115 g) shredded provolone cheese
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté the diced onions, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper in olive oil for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, sauté for another 3-4 minutes.
- Brown the ground beef, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce for 5-6 minutes.
- Mix in the softened cream cheese and beef broth, stirring until creamy.
- Layer the mixture in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and provolone cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be made ahead of time; just add extra baking time if baking from the fridge.
