Description
A delicious and quick dish combining the boldness of garlic and the nuttiness of sesame, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz noodles (like rice noodles or soba)
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Optional: chopped green onions, mixed vegetables, or protein (such as tofu or chickpeas)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Bring a pot of water to boil. Toss in your chosen noodles and cook according to package instructions (usually around 2–5 minutes). Drain and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent sticking.
- Prepare the flavors: In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Swirl the oil around to coat the pan well.
- Add the minced garlic to the pan and let it sauté for about 30 seconds. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
- Include the cooked and rinsed noodles to the pan with the garlic and sesame oil. Stir for about 2 minutes.
- Drizzle the soy sauce or tamari over the noodles and stir until each noodle is coated.
- Toss in any mixed vegetables or protein, stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until tender.
- Finish by sprinkling sesame seeds and give it one last stir before serving.
Notes
You can customize the recipe with your choice of vegetables or proteins. For a spicy kick, add sriracha or red pepper flakes.
