Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
- Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Prepare the buttercream by beating together softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Layer the cakes, frosting between layers with buttercream and strawberries.
- Drizzle with chocolate ganache if desired.
Notes
For a chocolate version, substitute half of the flour with cocoa powder. Consider adding lemon zest for a fresh twist!
