Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Milk (Warm to 110°F)
- 1 packet Active Dry Yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 2 large Eggs (Room temperature)
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (Spoon and level)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup White Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter (Room temperature)
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 3–4 medium Peaches (Yields about 16 oz)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (Room temperature)
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 cup Optional Peach Jam (Homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup Cinnamon Crumb Topping (Prepare ahead)
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, active dry yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it’s frothy.
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, the remaining sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center and add your frothy yeast mixture, room temperature eggs, and soft butter.
- Mix until the dough comes together. Use your hands if you need to!
- Knead It Out: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Rise & Shine: Place your dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel. Let it rise for about 1 – 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- The Filling: While the dough is rising, chop up those juicy peaches and toss them with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Roll It Out: Once your dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 18 x 24 inches).
- Spread a soft layer of butter and sprinkle the peach mixture evenly across the dough.
- Shape it Up: Starting at one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch to seal the seam and then slice it into 12-15 rolls.
- Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover with a towel, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Bake Away: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Glaze It!: Mix your cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Drizzle it generously over the warm cinnamon rolls.
