- 1 16 oz loaf French bread or Texas toast
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 15 oz can pumpkin
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the French bread into 1-inch cubes and let it stale slightly.
- Whisk together the eggs in a large bowl, then add the milk, heavy cream, pumpkin, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Fold the cubed bread into the custard mixture until all pieces are coated.
- Let the mixture sit for 15-20 minutes to soak.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the mixture in, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until set and golden on top.
- Cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a unique twist, try adding nuts, dried fruit, or chocolate chips into the pudding.
