Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 1/2 cup apple butter
- 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Beat the unsalted butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the apple butter and mix at low speed until fully incorporated.
- Incorporate the sifted powdered sugar gradually, mixing on low speed and then medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
- Add the vanilla extract and optional ground cinnamon; mix until blended.
- Adjust the consistency with milk or heavy cream, adding one tablespoon at a time and mixing as needed.
- Taste test and adjust sweetness or seasoning as necessary.
- Let the icing rest for about 10 minutes before using.
