Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Mix together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Add melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
  5. Stir together until just combined; some lumps are okay.
  6. Combine ground cinnamon and packed brown sugar in a small bowl.
  7. Layer half of the batter in the dish, sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then pour the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  9. Whip up the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and serve.
