Description

A comforting dish that perfectly combines the hearty flavors of a cheeseburger with the cozy vibes of pasta casserole.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb short pasta (like elbow macaroni or shells)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 15 oz canned diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the short pasta until al dente, then drain.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sauté the diced onion in with the beef until translucent, then add minced garlic for 1 minute.
  5. Add the canned diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta and 2 cups of cheese with the beef mixture.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and drizzle with whole milk.
  9. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
