Description

A simple yet magnificent dish that blends rich, buttery goodness with delightful aromatics, perfect as a side or base for your favorite protein.


Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 Medium Yellow Onion, finely diced
  • 1 1/2 cups Long Grain White Rice
  • 3 cups Good Quality Chicken Stock (or Vegetable Broth)
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste
  • 23 Bay Leaves

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onions in melted butter until translucent and caramelized, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add the rice and stir to coat in butter for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the chicken stock (or vegetable broth), add bay leaves, and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Simmer covered on low heat for about 18-20 minutes.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork after letting it rest for 5 minutes and discard bay leaves.

Notes

Butter rice pairs well with grilled chicken, beef stew, stir-fries, or roasted veggies. Add fresh herbs for a pop of color.
