  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Cream the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt) in a separate bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
  6. Fill the liners about two-thirds full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cupcakes on a wire rack completely.
  9. Whip the butter for frosting until smooth, then add powdered sugar and brown sugar, mixing until fluffy.
  10. Add milk and vanilla extract to the frosting, adjusting for consistency if necessary.
