Description

Crispy smash burger tacos that combine the classic flavors of a Big Mac with a fun taco twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • ¾ cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup dill pickle chips
  • ¼ cup finely chopped white onion
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (for skillet)
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by gathering all the items on the counter for a smooth cooking process.
  2. Cook the ground beef by heating your skillet over medium-high heat, adding oil, and searing the beef for 1-2 minutes before adding salt and pepper.
  3. Add flavor by stirring in paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Make the special sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, white vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing beef mixture in the center, topping with cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions, and drizzling with special sauce.
  7. Smash the tacos in the skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

Notes

Feel free to add jalapeños for spice or swap ground beef for black beans for a vegetarian option. These tacos can be a fun assembly competition with friends!
