- 1 Perfect Pie Crust Recipe
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 8 cups thinly sliced apples (peeled and cored)
- 2/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon water
- Coarse sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare the pie crust by rolling it out and fitting it into a 9-inch pie pan.
- Sauté the sliced apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, lemon juice, and salt for 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the sautéed apples into the prepared pie crust.
- Whisk together the egg and water, and brush over the crust.
- Create the top crust or lattice with additional pie crust.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool for at least 2 hours before slicing.
Notes
