  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine your sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl. Toss gently and let it macerate for 15 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Blend the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, then mix in the buttermilk and vanilla.
  5. Add the dry ingredients gradually, mixing just until combined.
  6. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and layer the apple mixture, then dollop the cobbler batter on top.
  7. Bake for about 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
