- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine your sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl. Toss gently and let it macerate for 15 minutes.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Blend the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, then mix in the buttermilk and vanilla.
- Add the dry ingredients gradually, mixing just until combined.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and layer the apple mixture, then dollop the cobbler batter on top.
- Bake for about 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. You can also drizzle some salted caramel sauce on top for extra indulgence.
