Description

A delightful Turkish pasta recipe that combines creamy Greek yogurt, savory ground beef, and perfectly cooked pasta for a flavor explosion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 4 garlic cloves (grated)
  • Juice from ½ lemon
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika (for serving)
  • Cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 12 oz cooked pasta (like fusilli or penne)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Start by boiling a pot of salted water and cooking your pasta according to the package directions.
  2. Prepare the Yogurt Sauce: Combine Greek yogurt, grated garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Stir and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Aromatics: In a frying pan over medium heat, melt about 2 tablespoons of butter. Toss in diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  4. Brown the Beef: Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
  5. Spice It Up: Stir in sweet paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and tomato paste. Mix until evenly combined.
  6. Finishing Touch: Add remaining butter to enhance creaminess and stir until melted.
  7. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Drain pasta and add it to the beef mixture, folding everything together.
  8. Serve It Up: Spoon pasta into bowls and drizzle with yogurt sauce, then top with cherry tomatoes, feta, and parsley.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with mushrooms or lentils. This dish reheats beautifully and can be made ahead of time.
