Description
This is not your average hummus. This Thanksgiving twist layers rich, herby stuffing-inspired topping over creamy hummus for a warm, savory dip that’s holiday-party ready. We’ve doubled the batch and added a few festive touches like maple-glazed pecans and a hint of balsamic to balance the savory-sweet notes. Perfect with pita chips, veggie sticks, or warm naan slices.
Ingredients
20 ounces plain hummus (store-bought or homemade)
Stuffing Topping
⅔ pound spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
2 stalks celery, finely diced
2 small shallots, diced
1 tart apple, finely diced (like Granny Smith)
½ cup dried cranberries, roughly chopped
2 teaspoons minced fresh sage
2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional twist)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Optional Garnishes
¼ cup maple-glazed pecans, chopped (for crunch)
Fresh parsley or thyme leaves
Extra drizzle of olive oil or balsamic glaze
