Description

A cozy dish of creamy scalloped potatoes layered with cheese, onions, and garlic, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (Cheddar or Gruyere)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grab a baking dish and generously grease it with butter.
  3. Using either a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer, thinly slice your potatoes to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. In a small pan, melt a tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  5. Add your chopped onions and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  6. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  7. Start layering! In your greased baking dish, arrange a layer of potato slices at the bottom.
  8. In a bowl, mix your heavy cream with the paprika, salt, and pepper.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and pop it into the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
  10. Once out of the oven, let your scalloped potatoes cool for about 10-15 minutes.
