Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • Additional sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Make the caramel by melting sugar in a saucepan and stirring constantly until golden brown, then add butter and cream.
  2. Sprinkle in sea salt and pour the caramel into a bowl to cool for 30 minutes.
  3. Chop chocolate into small pieces and melt using a double boiler.
  4. Combine cooled caramel with melted chocolate until well mixed and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
  5. Shape the mixture into bite-sized balls and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Coat each truffle in melted chocolate and sprinkle with sea salt before setting.
  7. Allow truffles to cool at room temperature until the chocolate hardens.
