  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • Butter (for greasing the dish)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish and grease it with butter.
  3. Tear the loaf of brioche or French bread into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the broken pieces of bread and push down to soak.
  6. Sprinkle the fresh blueberries over the top.
  7. Let the casserole sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve with maple syrup.
