Nutella Banana Swirl Muffins

Description

Delicious banana muffins swirled with rich Nutella, perfect for brunch or snacks.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 medium over-ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup Nutella (or homemade Nutella)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a muffin tin.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: mash bananas and add sugar, egg, oil, and vanilla. Whisk until combined.
  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  5. Add Nutella by dropping spoonfuls onto the batter and swirl with a fork.
  6. Fill each muffin cup about ¾ full with the batter.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool muffins for 5 minutes in the tin, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

These muffins are best served warm, optionally topped with more Nutella.
