Ingredients
2 cups unsalted butter, softened
3 cups granulated sugar
8 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup whole milk
Ganache:
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Optional Twists:
1 tbsp espresso powder
1 tbsp orange zest
½ tsp cinnamon or cayenne
Sprinkle sea salt or chopped nuts on ganache
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a Bundt or tube pan.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Whisk dry ingredients and alternate adding with milk.
Pour into pan, bake 55–65 mins. Cool 15 mins, remove from pan.
For ganache: heat cream, pour over chocolate, let sit, stir until smooth. Add vanilla.
Pour over cooled cake and let set.
