Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup ketchup
¼ cup tomato paste
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp chili powder (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 hamburger buns
Instructions
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper (if using). Cook for 3–5 minutes until softened.
Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and chili powder.
Season with salt and pepper. Simmer on low for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Spoon the mixture onto toasted hamburger buns and serve warm.
