- 1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 10 oz can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley or green onions (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and crumbly. Drain excess grease.
- Mix the softened cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the cooked sausage into the cream cheese mixture, followed by the drained Rotel, sharp cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, until golden and bubbly. Optional: use the broiler for a few minutes for a golden finish.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or green onions, alongside tortilla chips or crackers.
Notes
For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken. You can prepare the dip ahead of time and store it in the fridge, then bake when ready.
