Ingredients
7 cups all-purpose flour, divided
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
4 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground allspice
2 cups packed brown sugar
Optional Twists to Add to the Jar:
2 tsp orange zest (dried) for citrusy brightness
½ cup mini white chocolate chips or toffee bits
1 tbsp finely chopped crystallized ginger

Instructions
In a bowl, whisk 6 cups flour with baking soda, baking powder, and all spices.
In each jar, layer: 1 cup spiced flour mix, half the brown sugar, more flour, optional mix-ins, and the rest of the flour. Press each layer firmly for a neat presentation.
Seal tightly. Decorate with fabric under the lid, a ribbon, and attach a cookie cutter if desired.

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream ¾ cup softened butter with 1 egg and ¾ cup molasses.
Add contents of jar and mix until a soft dough forms.
Roll out to ¼-inch thick, cut into shapes, and bake 8–10 minutes.
