- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
- ½ cup French-fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes.
- Caramelize sliced onions in the skillet for a few minutes until golden.
- Add the uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for about 25 minutes.
- Mix in the sour cream and half of the cheese mixture. Stir gently.
- Top with the remaining cheese and French-fried onions.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving.
