  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup French-fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Caramelize sliced onions in the skillet for a few minutes until golden.
  4. Add the uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for about 25 minutes.
  6. Mix in the sour cream and half of the cheese mixture. Stir gently.
  7. Top with the remaining cheese and French-fried onions.
  8. Bake uncovered for an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving.
