Description

A comforting and easy recipe for Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches, perfect for chilly evenings.


Ingredients

  • 34 pounds Beef Chuck Roast
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 Onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • Black Pepper, to taste
  • Crusty Rolls or Hoagie Buns, for serving
  • Provolone or Swiss Cheese, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by seasoning the chuck roast with salt and pepper; optionally sear it in a hot skillet until browned.
  2. Layer the sliced onions in the crockpot and place the beef chuck roast on top.
  3. Mix together the beef broth, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme in a bowl and pour over the beef.
  4. Set the crockpot to low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  5. Shred the beef using two forks once cooked and return to the broth.
  6. Prepare the rolls by toasting them in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Assemble sandwiches by loading the toasted rolls with the shredded beef and drizzle with au jus.
  8. Serve with ladled au jus for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different broths and add garlic for extra flavor. Serve with fries or a salad.
