- 1 loaf of French bread
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- Powdered sugar for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the French bread and let it sit out for about an hour to dry out.
- Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Layer half of the sliced bread in a greased baking dish, followed by dollops of the cream cheese mixture.
- Add the remaining slices of bread on top, followed by another layer of cream cheese mixture.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, remaining 1/4 cup sugar, the rest of the cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Pour the egg mixture over the layered bread and cream cheese, pressing down gently to soak.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Bake the casserole for 45–50 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup.
