- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until well blended. Pour this wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then add the softened butter until crumbly.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture on top, then pour the remaining batter and finish with the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, add powdered sugar and milk to reach desired glaze consistency.
- Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes and drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the top.
- Cut into squares and serve warm.
Notes
This cake can be made ahead of time, and leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
