- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 5 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk (if desired)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Your Molds: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a medium bowl.
- Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
- Alternate Adding Dry Ingredients and Milk: Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Scoop and Bake: Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full and bake for 18-20 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool Down: Let cupcakes cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
- Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating: Combine melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush the cooled cupcakes with melted butter and dip in the sugar mixture.
- Make the Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth, then add vanilla, cinnamon, and confectioners’ sugar.
- Frost and Enjoy: Frost the cooled cupcakes and sprinkle with additional cinnamon-sugar if desired.
Notes
For variations, consider stuffing cupcakes with dulce de leche or mixing in chocolate for a twist!
