A warm and flavorful casserole made with layers of tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and gooey cheese, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 ½ lbs Ground Beef (or Ground Turkey)
- 1 Medium Onion (Chopped)
- 3 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
- 5–6 Medium Russet Potatoes (Thinly Sliced)
- 2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Divided)
- 1 Cup Shredded Mozzarella (Optional)
- 1 10.5 oz Can Cream of Mushroom Soup (or Cream of Chicken)
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- ½ tsp Paprika (Optional)
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil or Butter (for Greasing the Dish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the meat in a skillet with olive oil and chopped onion for 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Prepare half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, paprika, and seasonings until smooth.
- Layer half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then pour half of the creamy sauce and top with cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake covered for 25-30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be made ahead of time and refrigerated. It’s also freezer-friendly!
