Description
This cobbler is pure comfort—the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes with the first bite. It reminds me of summer evenings at the lake, where the blueberries were picked fresh and the cobbler was always served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s simple, homey, and absolutely delightful.
Ingredients
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup milk (2% or whole)
½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups fresh blueberries
¼ cup sugar (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Pour melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour batter over the butter—do not stir.
Evenly distribute blueberries over the top, then sprinkle with ¼ cup sugar.
Bake for 40–45 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
Let cool slightly and serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
